Blog Class

Yesterday's class was not a nomarl class. We talked about the importance of blogging. It really taught me that showing up to class is not enough to pass this class. From now on I will post more.

Final blog post

Participation-  In the participation category, I have completed most of the tasks. I have came to more then majority of the classes, for the classes I wasn't here for, I was feeling sick. For the classes i was here for I have brought my gym strip, except for a couple days. I didnt bring my gym strip for those couple classes because i forgot. During the activity i am mentally and physically engaged because if one of me is there that means I am not giving my 100%. In this category I give myself 23%. 

Social Responsibility
In the social responsibility category I try my best to have fun for myself but still considering the enjoyment of my peers. For example when we play dodgeball and I get it, I could stay in the game and have fun for myself or I could play the honest was and head towards the bench. While making the decision I consider that my classmates happiness is greater then my happiness. So I head towards the bench and play according to the rules. I don't setup the games but after the games have ended, I pick up left over pinnies and put then away. In this category I give my self 23%.

Healthy Living
In the healthy living category I try my best to eat healthy but sometimes the urge of eating junk foods gets the better of me and I give in. During the fitness days I try my best to do better then last time. For example if I got 8 on the beep test, next time I will try to get a 8.5 or higher. Some obstacles I face during fitness is getting carried away with my friends. I start talking to them and I can't stop. My future goals for my physical health is to eat healthier by thinking about what I'm eating before I eat. For example I should think about eating junk food or if I shouldn't. Outside of school I do a lot of physical activities such as playing basketball everyday and playing baseball once a week during the weekends. For this category I think I deserve a 21% 

Digital Portfolio
In the digital portfolio I did not do a very good job because my details are not done with a lot of detail nor effort. Not including this blog post I have 21 posts which I think is not acceptable. From the beginning of the year you said that the blogs are going to be a big part of the over all grade. Assuming the blogs were easy I ignored them until I had free time. I quickly jotted down some obstacles and how I over came them. I have commented around one time which again is not acceptable. I should have been more engaged during the blogs. For this category I give my self a 20%

Overall Mark
Overall I think I deserve a 87% percent because I have improved from the mid term blog post and I have vastly improved in the knowledge of my body.

Handball

Today's class no one was trying exept for a couple people. But I was trying my hardest no to goof off because I didn't want to ruin it for the others. 

Community Run

The community run was easy for me this time and I don't know why. Maybe it was because I had a proper lunch or I am more fit. The person I ran with was Randeep. I chose home because he is fit and will help motivate me. While I was doing it, I didn't feel tired or anything. I could run for a good 5 minutes straight and not take a break. I didn't know what my time was because there was no one there. But Randeep and I were top 6. So I assume we did good

Hill Run

I didn't have a lunch but I still tried my best to participate the best i could. During the hill run my thighs were hurting but I powered through till the end. While I was doing the hill run, I began thinking on what this type if fitness helps increase. I came to the conclusion that it helps pacing and a bit if strength.

Blog Effort

My blog posts compared to Ashley Dosanjh are poorly done. I should write with more detail and with more goals. Looking at her blog I can tell that she writes about her obstacles and how she overcame the obstacles. Ashley also writes about who she should be with because if your with somebody that doesn't try it will rub off on her. In my blog I should write more about how to accomplish the goals and not if I did accomplish it or not. In her blog she also writes about how her body is changing as she is sprinting and during the break. After reading and analyzing Ashely's blog I understand what I should improve and who I should join for an activity. 

Lunch

During the weekend I made a healthy sandwich containing lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and spinach with maynoise and cheese. I am starting to eat healthy because I feel I have been eating a lot of junk food lately 


Upper Field Activities

There were around 8 stations. My favorite station was the hurdles because it test you on your jump. I hope to improve my jump because it will help me in basketball specifically getting rebounds. My least favorite station was the tail one because no body would try. I tried being a leader and telling the girls to try but they wouldn't. 

iPad Fitness

In my group there was Gurinder, Manny, Randeep, Kulbir and Charnpreet. I enjoyed working with this group because they didn't stop and they kept me motivated when I wanted to quit. If we do this again I hope to lift 30. 

Beep Test

My state of mind going into this beep test was to achieve a greater score then 11.3 which is my highest score. But while I was running I did not have enough energy to complete my goal. Since I didn't have a lunch my energy was a low amount. I tried to go till 8 but I enddd up dropping around 7.4. My goal for the next beep test is to break my record by eating a proper lunch and pacing myself 

Loco Locomotive

Before the fitness started Mr.Neufield said that this activity will be about pacing yourself. During the fitness I went full on at the start but I started to slow down close to the end. After that experience I will use Mr.Neufields advice while we are doing fitness

Choice

Today I went to the weight room. I went on the treadmill for about 30 minutes on 4.7. I started to get tired. Since I had a math quiz after I stopped so I would have enough energy to write the quiz. Later on I went to soccer. Today's class was boring because it was crowded. But I stayed positive and still participated

Community Rub

Today in fitness we did the community run. I got 23 min. I am proud of that time but I hope to improve that time by the end of the semester. I didn't feel all that tired during the run and or after the run. My partner motivated and incouraged me to push farther, farther then I would have on my own.

Mid-Term Reflection


During PE this year, how have you shown you are prepared and willing to participate in a variety of activities? 
On what days have you participated to your best effort and 
why?  What days have been a struggle for you and why?

I have brought my gym strip everyday except for one day, but I wore shorts and participated. On choice days I have participated with my best effort because there is more then one chose to choose from. Beep test days are a struggle for me because I usually don't eat at lunch and when pe class comes along, I am hungry and I have no energy. 

How do you contribute to the overall success of the class?  What kind of attitude do you bring and why?  How do you interact with other students in our class?

I contribute to the class by coming to class and respecting others. I bring a positive attitude to the class because PE is where I am the happiest. I don't talk to a lot of the people in my class other than the people I know well. But when there is an activity I don't like, I still try my best because the people do enjoy the activity don't want people that don't try. 



Describe your participation during fitness days - have you been able to push yourself physically?  What types of fitness activities do you enjoy the most?  What fitness goals do you have for the rest of the year? 

I have not pushed myself to my potential and I don't know the reason why. I enjoy doing the relay race around the back parking lot because we get breaks in between. My fitness goal for this year is to get atleast a 11.7 on the beep test. 



What does "leadership" mean to you?  Who are the best leaders in our class - why? 

To me the word leadership is respecting others while taking matters into your hands by setting up activities. I think Keziah is the best leader because she's always in a positive mood while setting activities up. 

What improvements would you like to make in PE by the end of the year?  What are 
you the most proud of so far?

My number one improvement to make in PE by the end of the year is to be more mentally and obstinately active. My beep test score is what I'm most proud of because I got 11.3 and last year I got 10.2


Finally, what letter grade A, B, C+, C, C- (gulp) best represents the effort you just described? In Grade 10-12 we need an actual percentage as well. :(

I think I deserve an B because I am fit and respect others. The percent I gave myself is %80

Hill Run

During the hill run I didn't really feel a burn. But one day after my thighs were sore but soon after it went away and I felt much lighter when I ran during hockey or soccer. I got around 4500 steps during the hill run. I enjoy the hill run, but one downside is the number of people, I can't get to my top speed because there are so many people and I keep having to slow down to avoid running into them 

Insanity #2

This insanity was different from the one before because this time it was more about balance and endurance which are my weaknesses. My goal for this year is to greatly improve my balance and flexibility 

Insanity

During the workout I felt like puking but I worked through it and after the workout it felt normal. I like doing insanity because it has both cardio and strength activities. It gets me really active and I can feel my body wanting to quit but at the end of the day it's all worth it 

Full Beep Test

I was doing 1:1 till 8 and then from there I started to do 2:1 because I was beginning to feel tired. By the time it was finished I felt like puking but it was worth it 

Beep Test #2

This time on the beep test I did bad I got 10.3 I think. The reason I did bad was because my knee started to hurt 

Circuit

The circuit was fun because you could do a different activity every time. I think I could have worked harder but since I didn't have a lunch it held me bake from my full potential 

Pyramid

I enjoyed doing the pyramid because it contains cardio and I enjoy doing cardio workouts

I think I am fitter then I was from last year. I got a 10.2 last year in P.E 9 and this year in P.E I got a 11.3 score. But I still think I can improve my score my actually participating in fitness. My goal for this year is to score a 12
